During his visit to Jordan, US secretary of energy Sam Bodman declared that his country supports Jordan’s nuclear program. He said the US and Jordan have a mutual agreement that insures the exchange of knowledge in this area.
Bodman referred to the US initiative on “International Partnership on Nuclear Energy", which aims at creating a broad-based international partnership for the use of nuclear power as a clean source of electricity. In this connection, a Jordanian delegation will visit the US in the next two months to further the cooperation between the two countries. [France has recently signed agreements with Libya, Algeria, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, to provide them with the technology to develop their nuclear programs for peaceful purposes.]
